Hello! I'm Hailey
As a creative professional with a passion for making scientific knowledge more accessible to a lay audience through my art, I bring a unique perspective to my work. Born and raised in the northwest by an artist mom and an accountant dad, I have always had a strong affinity for both creative and analytical pursuits. This led me to pursue a career in biomedical visualization, where I create interesting and educational visual solutions for various medical and scientific topics. My favorite aspect of this field is the opportunity to explain complex topics in an engaging and understandable way through illustrations, interactive media, and 3D models.
While working as a technician in the anatomy lab at Idaho State University, I gained a strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology through weekly cadaveric dissections and authoring a dissection guide. Additionally, I presented an interactive lecture on the nervous system, which further developed my skills in biomedical communication. My experiences as an educational group leader and contracted house painter have also honed my skills in project management and adaptability.
I have completed Master's level research in game-based learning, tabletop game development, and mental health education, resulting in the creation of a board game that teaches adolescents about mental health management strategies. I am proficient in various 2D and 3D art software, which allows me to execute my designs effectively. My peers have recognized me for my soft skills, including my knowledge, collaboration, and focus. I hold a Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization and a Bachelor of Science in both Health Science Studies and Pre-Medical Studies, with a minor in Visual Art.
Outside of work, you'll find me spending time in greenhouses, gardens, & kitchens.
