Where is my mind? Investigating Tabletop Game Design to Address Depression Management for Teens

The prevalence of depression among adolescents is increasing in the United States and early intervention is key to preventing worse outcomes. One method of intervention is through classroom discussions about mental health, mental illness, depression, and depression management. This can be accomplished in many ways, one of which is through game-based learning and the use of tabletop games. Tabletop games have previously been shown to increase positive emotions about scientific topics, but very little research has been conducted on tabletop games about mental health. This project sought to investigate an effective way of creating a tabletop game that addresses mental health and depression management among adolescents in a classroom environment.
